More irrelevancy spewed from the mouth of Miyamoto.

What this nonsensical and seemingly insane turd says no longer holds any sway or weight in the gaming industry.

Miyamoto is clueless and has been for years confirmed.

The guy has made what? 1 good game in about the last 10 years.

Miyamoto just disappointed me with that statement.

He's really not the same as he was 15 years ago.

Does he elaborate further on this because it seems a bit vague. Though I picture it could be in the sense that when it comes to the video games the consumer is put first because it's an interactive experience for the player not just some non-interactive set-piece that a designer is just showing off.

Here is the quote from the interview.
Shigeru Miyamoto "What we have created are not art but products. For us, the most important are the customers and not games themselves. I always tell staff to call Nintendo games products, not art."

Source (in Japanese)

It's important to stay grounded. It's fun to picture a videogame as a work of art. But it's still entertainment. That's all it is and all it needs to be. It's okay for there to be haters who think it's weird. Not everyone has to like everything. You don't need approval to like what you like, so long as you aren't hurting yourself or others. I still get the occasional "what?" when some people find out I still play or that I play videogames.

It's depressing to see videogames stuck in a rut. The tech is evolving, but the content remains the same. If you're a kid now, you won't notice. But if you keep playing well into your adult life, you will begin to understand.

Miyamoto is the same guy who hated Donkey Kong Country, an obviously superior game to a lot of the stuff he made.

If the source is in Japanese you could be fooling us.

Maybe what he actually says is that he likes to wrap himself in bacon, bathe in butter and roll down boulders on small dogs.

Aren't Japanese people really humble?

the exact opposite

they have quite the superiority complex, especially in regards to non-japanese

From my time with family and such in Japan, they are rather critical of themselves. They will find just as many things to bash about themselves as feel proud of. But yea, they do have a bit of a superiority complex in regards to other countries and cultures at times.
