I followed the wifi sticky and it still won't work

I did everything right I think,(I set the I.P from my default gateway and added +10, is that maybe the problem?)



it said it worked, tried to update the system. Nothing, tried a connection test, worked, tried again, nothing.


This time it made it to "network device" but it failed...
The Wii and the NES had the most amount of shovelware ever.

I had similar problems in doing the initial update. For me, moving the Wii U closer to the router helped. It does not need to be connected to a TV in order to do the update, just close enough to a power outlet so that it can be plugged in (duh).

After the update was done, I was able to put it back in the original location I had it in, and have had zero problems since (well, unless the router itself lost connection, but that's not the Wii U's fault).

Had this same problem yesterday, it worked for mr after trying a couple times. I just tried to pick up my wifi from the update page and it caught it, connected, and updated my system. Been online ever since, just keep trying it'll work.
