Isn't this exactly the type of situation the Pro Controller is for?

The Pro Controller is for Multiplayer. The Gamepad as EVERY button modern controllers do plus a touch screen and gyroscope.
Metroid Zero Mission and Super Metroid are some of the finest 2D games ever made and are the best in the series.
Metroid Fusion is pretty cool I guess.

Makes me sad because this is the first Tomb Raider that i really want to play

should've bought a PS3 then

Should've bought a gaming PC or a 360, because 90% of PS3 multiplats all look worse and run worse than the 360 version.

This isn't 2006 (unless you're Bethesda as even PC games of theirs are glitch city)... The overwhelmingly majority of them run the same now. Arkham Asylum and City, DOA5, FFXIII and various other games actually run better on PS3 than 360 and would like to have a word with you. DMC4 was even worse on PC compared to either console version. Although that is the case for Wii and currently Wii-U now as Tekken Tag 2 on Wii-U runs inferior than PS3 and 360 versions.....

Both Arkham games run worse on PS3. The vast majority of multiplatform games run slightly worse on PS3. Just look up any game on Digital Foundry and you will have all you need.

Who needs tomb raider when we have Zelda?

You mean the old Zelda game from like 10 years ago?

WiiU games are better off built with gimmicks in mind. It would be whack to add a gimmick to a game that doesn't need it.

Multiplayer and/or whiny gamers.

a major release that a lot of people are looking forward doesn't come to the Wii U: "i didn't want it anyways, it sucks"
obscure weeaboo garbage comes to the Wii U: "omgomg amazing!!!' *wets pants with excitement*
I want to move to a nice, quaint house in the suburbs with the T-Mobile girl and make lots of babies with her.

You can use it for single player too. I use it for Tekken Tag Tournament 2 by myself.
