Why don't they just buy their own machines? They have the money, and the Wii U's will go back to Nintendo so they can be sold again. In theory, they wouldn't even be losing systems yet they still make a s***load of sales.

That's shipped to stores, not sold by stores. While Nintendo gets paid for those units shipped, they will have to buy back any unsold units, so those can't count as sales. According to a topic linking to a neogaf forum, only 2 million Wii U's were actually sold by the end of December.

The rate of sales at stores isn't terrible though. It's like 2/3 off the shelf.

Yup, they also lowered forecast of 3DS sales.

1.9 sold at the end of the 2012, 3.2 shipped to stores, I would think that by almost mid Feb. is almost or already 3 millions sold....
