Why couldn't they have made a super powerful console like the PS4? (8GB dedicated RAM drools).

And it already has so many features the Wii U doesn't have.

Because the last time they tried that, they didn't even sell 25 million units, and every other time in recent memory a company has tried that has lost billions (PS3, Dreamcast, Xbox), barely broken even (PSP, GameCube), or been forced to rely on a gimmick to re-ignite interest in their console (Xbox 360)?

nintendo messed up with wii, it was a success sure thats cause smartphones/tablets were in infant stage. so the casuals bought it like crazy and you know the rest.
i honestly believe casuals should get there filthy hands of gaming, they have no brand loyalty what so ever.
as much as i hate mario(only mario lol ) i rather play it then overrated crap like angry birds or poop craft.

why build a beast when developers aren't even taking full advantage of what's there?

this happens every generation. it is a waste of money. it could even mean danger zone for a console manufacturer that does it too much with less than favorable results. it IS danger zone for a developer that pours time and money into building technically beastly games that go on to sell like a porno movie in an asexual galaxy.

and for what? just so some clowns at a message board can say "my system is more powerful than yours" and OCCASIONALLY get a game that actually proves it to a significant extent?

Because Nintendo has hit upon a winning business model. Sell consoles under powered when compared to the competition yet add a gimmick. This leads to cheap production cost and maximum profit.

Last time Nintendo made a beast it crashed and burned.
My sig will never happen, but it would be awesome if it did.

People still don't understand that the 8 gigs of ram aren't for the games, but for the streaming, and all the other social stuff? Even the ps4 board knows this.

Nintendo has always been about making the best of little resources. None of it's most memorable consoles where the most powerful of their respective time.
