The N64 was kind of goofy, but it was the epitome of local mutiplayer. It also ushered in 3D gaming. I personally had more fun with the N64 than the SNES.

The SNES was more serious, and yes, it has timeless games. I also believe a lot of people rate it so highly because of old school RPGs, which aren't everyone's cup of tea.

If I had to choose, I'd go with the N64 with little hesitation.

The SNES wasn't really "cool" though... it was gray and purple.

The N64 tried to be cool, but failed. Then the Gamecube gave up again and went hardcore purple.

Nintendo doesn't really do "cool" well.

Excited for: MHTri U, Fire Emblem Awakening, FFVSXIII (It will come out... eventually. Right?)
