Curiously, I've read that the Wii U transmits a 1080p signal via Component (since it doesn't play 1080p movies anyway, and thus no copy protection is required). I thought that was simply a restriction due to bandwidth limits of Component cables.

I voted for 720p with HDMI because that's the one I usually have it hooked up to. I have a 32" 720p in my bedroom that the Wii U spends most time hooked up to. However, I occasionally move it out to the living room with a 1080p.

A HD compatible Hitachi. Tried 1080p downstairs but it only supports 1080i. Still looks freaking awesome though

I do know it's got something to do with the rate that the screen refreshes

1080p is to do with resolution and not refresh rate.

I have a very expensive 3D LED tele and its awesome. Hdmi obviously.
