It had a had a bunch of really good exclusives, and it had one of it's best games (Melee) available right after launch. How did it not sell well? Was it because it was competing against the PS2?

I wonder this because the Wii U isn't selling very well right now, but what would happen if the quality games come out and it still isn't selling as well as it should?

As good as the some of the Gamecube exclusives were, they simply could not compare to the sheer amount of great high quality PS2 exclusives.

What are we considering the standard of sales? I mean the Xbox sold roughly 3+ million more then the Gamecube.

If the PS2 didn't release or didn't have a DVD player inside of it. I reckon the GC would have sold probably more than fifty million units.

PS2 also sold well because it was a cheap DVD player.
