...that I bought already? (once Nintendo links our accounts to the eshop?)

I only have like $12 of bought stuff, so no biggie I guess.

Long story short, I got a really good job today but I need to buy semi-expensive work gear, that I cannot afford unless I sell my WiiU and something else.

Not at the moment, it's tied to the console though who knows if that'll change or not. Though the 12 dollar loss isn't huge

You'll lose your NNID too. I hope you weren't attached to the user name you chose.

I believe Nintendo said they'd eventually make it so purchases are tied to the account and not the hardware but it's been quite some time with no news on that front.

It's pretty ridiculous in this day and age, I have no idea what they were thinking.

My guess is that they'll fix it when they update the 3DS with Miiverse features.

Yes, that is what I am counting on. Hope it is both retroactive and proactive. Hope it changes in the April update, that way I won't have to worry.

YOU SERIOUS?

It's what I have used for 7 years on PSN. There's no way to deactivate the console or anything? I will want it back!!!!! Anyhow, not 100% positive I will have to sell it but it's looking that way ATM.

I heard that is supposed to change in the future. I guess I could try calling Nintendo, but maybe it won't do me any good.

Even if they do eventually fix it there's no way it will be retroactive.

I would call Nintendo first. You can explain and make sure the software is attached to a Club Nintendo account of yours or something and see if they can help. Asking us won't really get you a real answer.
