With the New Super Mario series selling well and Nintendo's return to top-down Zelda with A Link Between Two Worlds, would you be happier or a angrier if Nintendo chose to make the next Wii U entries in the series "prettier" versions of their SNES counterparts? Top-down 2D Zelda and sidescrolling Metroid.

I really wouldn't want this. Save it for 3DS.

No I would not be disappointed.

Yes, but on a grander scale. An entirely new game with HD graphics, new story, new overworld, etc. I know A Link Between Two Worlds is a brand new game, but the reuse of the LttP overworld does kind of take some of the joy out of exploring.

Other M was linear 3D, and honestly, it was fine. I'll never understand the hate for this game.

For Metroid I would be incredibly happy since I've been dying for a new 2d Metroid, for Zelda I wouldn't really care as I'm not a fan of the series, though I admit the LttP remake looks like the first interesting Zelda game since Wind Waker.

Because Samus wasn't a soulless, dudebro with the personality of a walnut like Master Chief.

I wouldn't mind it. It's not like it would mean we would never get another 3D installment but if Nintendo wants to go through a SNES throwback stage I'd be for it. We've had 15+ years of great 3D Zelda's on consoles and a trilogy of great 3D Metroids, let 2D get some love. I'm sure some are happy to see those types stick to handhelds but for folks like me who prefer to play games on a 40" HDTV rather than a tiny backlit screen I have to hold in my lap...yeah, I'd like it.
Clam shell plastic packaging is, in fact, my mortal enemy.

Well yes the story and script in Other M could use some polishing but I more meant the first person Where's Waldo segments that were just awful.

Imagine using the gamepad screen for a scanner or first person shooting instead of holding the remote toward the TV. Tons of potential there (maybe a button to switch instead of the accelerators, I dunno).
