Were there any favourable previews for this game? I want platinum to do well but you can't ignore the preview impressions.

Link? I'm curious...

pretty sure God Hand and Viewtiful Joe were described the same way.

And then people sat down and actually played the goddamn games, which doesn't really happen that often with Platinum, so it was surprising.

Wasn't it supposed to be the game that will save the Wii U and silence the naysayers?
Man at this rate I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Iwata committed sudoku on himself

Nice source.

I reserve all judgement until the game comes out. It's Platinum games. Say what you like, but it could well be a cult classic at least.

Biggest thing to know from their Nintendo Direct/E3 announcement was they'd be releasing at least 1 first party game per month from now until December. Take from that what you will.

-Wario Ware
-Pikmin 3
-Wonderful 101
-Wind Waker remake
-Donkey Kong
-Mario 3D World

Wario Ware == disaster. $40 for a mini game. rated 5/10 on IGN
Pikmin3 == looks backwards from the first few Pikmins. no big jump in graphics. A 1 trick pony, and no coop despite having 4 spots and 4 players in Nintendo Land.
Wonderful 101 == was described again, as gimmicky, one trick pony, and boring at the conferences in terms of gameplay
Wind Waker == worth buying, but criminal that its full price

Donkey Kong and Mario 3D look interesting, great games. But, 2014 will be Wii U's year w/ Smash Bros, Mario Kart, etc.

This source called 3D World an interesting and great game. Guess we can can stop calling it a 3ds port now. Instant purchase.
