It runs both physical and digital Wii content (through a sub menu which looks exactly like the Wii's). Wii games can only be played with Wii controllers (Wiimote(+), Nunchuck, Classic --- whatever the game itself supports).

Wii U games can use any controller the Wii could (except gamecube) in addition to the gamepad (with the screen) and the Pro controller. The games, once again, note controller support individually. (Got any game-specific questions?)

Thanks everyone the info was helpful so I guess IŽll take her out next friday to get one :D! In the mean time I should buy what type of controllers for the wii U? I should buy only plus controllers with nunchucks right?

What differences are between. . . plus controler and pro? I ill google them out and ill start from there. . .besides I can start by getting her the wii U and a couple of pre-owned wii games . . .later on i can get her the rest of the accesories.

Thanks again for all the info.... I told her how the wii U is compatible with the wii games and she is all like....BEST NEWS EVER!

Wii remote: original controller. Obsolete.

Wii remote with motion plus: Wii remote with an attachment that allows for better accuracy. Obsolete.

Wii remote plus: Wii remote with motion plus integrated into the remote form factor. Current model. Denoted by words arranged in a semicircle at the bottom of the remote.

Nintendo Land is the closest thing Wii U has to the Wii Sports games. It also has an HD version of Wii Sports with online play.

Don't you think a hd version with online play is closer to the original then Nintendo land?

I can't believe I defended you on a troll topic today. Prove me wrong kielbasa
