If there's something I love after finishing a game, it's hunting for trophies to see what else is left to do. It really gives you a sensation of accomplishment after doing everything, 100%, in the game.
Older games would have a much higher replay value with trophies. Remember trying to get all items in FFVII? Almost no one cared about it. If there was a trophy for that, though, a lot of people would enjoy having a trophy showing you got all items available and give a try at that challenge.
Besides, it's cool to know how dedicated some gamers are by seeing that they earned that extremely difficult platinum trophy. I know I'm proud of having Mortal Kombat, Wipeout HD, GTA 4, Metal Gear Solid 4 platinum trophies...
The Wii U doesn't have that. There's no motivation to keep replaying a Wii U game. Games like Red Dead Redemption, Arkham City and Dead Space are awesome even without trophies, but the Wii U doesn't have games like that (well, it does have Arkham City but no one bought the Wii U version...). Wii U games NEED a Trophy system in order to have a decent replay value. If Nintendo wants my money, they better add Trophies in their games. All of them. I'm not going to pay full price for Tropical Freeze or 3D World just to play them once!
It's off-topic to talk about the online portion of TLoU. Only the single player campaign is allowed in TLoU's board. - GameFAQs mod
