Lol at the people saying no. Of course they are, I mean don't get me wrong, they are much more than just standard DLC, but they still provide access to content that would otherwise be restricted within the game.

DLC isn't a dirty word, Crevice, now that's a dirty word.

its not really Downloadable because in a way you are creating the content on them

No. DLC is were EA cuts off a part of the game, and sells it back to you.
Amiibo are not the same.
Amiibo from SSB is a fighter that you can custom train how you want. (like a pokemon)
Have no idea what they will be for other games.
