I'm gonna buy it regardless, but I'd like to see this thing move some Wii U units.

Yeah let's face it - it's not gonna do crap for the system.

It needs to do well, so we can get more Platinum games on the Wii U.

But yeah, Smash Bros. is gonna be what helps the Wii U the most later this year.

The original Bayonetta did poorly enough that nobody, NOBODY, wanted to publish a sequel -- except Nintendo.

Although Bayo 2 is likely to be just as sublime as the first game, it has no hope of doing well in terms of sales.

If sales are low it'll be because too many stubborn jerks are still hung up on the Wii U only thing and refusing to buy it. Alot of games start their series on one system and end up exclusive to another! Dead or alive 3 ring any bells? It happens so if you really wanna play it and don't have a Wii U this should be every reason to get one! It's a double pack with both games for crying out loud! The first of which is confirmed to run better than the PS3 hack job version.

Well the most biggest nintendo games with most diehard fans aren't selling that well overall like they use to due to install base of wii u but have 28-56% attach rate. I don't think bayonetta will have that sort of attach rate, even among the 360 and PS3 crowd yes they sold 2 million copies but at 3.5%. Wii U is gonna be 9 million units at the end April 2015. Even less when Bayonetta 2 is released.

It's fairly niche and the wii u install base is not gonna help it. Hell in japan the wii u is selling worst then last year and that's with mario kart 8 out. Gonna be bad sales for bayonetta. The best selling third party game can't even sell 900k let alone a million copies and that's with the lego franchise brand. Hell even COD can't sell a million. Ranka-Macross Frontier

Not likely, considering how poorly Bayo 1 sold on two platforms with much greater install bases, as well as the hypersexualization in the game that will deter parents from letting their kids buy it

Well for starters, what is the threshold? What is considered "doing well"? What's the target that you are aiming for?

Of course, but it won't detract from my enjoyment of the game whether it does well or not. See The Wonderful 101.

Didn't the first one only sell a little over 1 million between BOTH PS3 and 360 versions?(Both of which had much much higher install bases as well)

Yea, I don't see this selling blockbusters at all.
