I have 22K G on my 360… What does this do for me? It's like how people go out to hunter for trophies, bragging rights basically.

I'm not saying they aren't neat. It would be nice to go back and say look at when I smashed hard mode on DK:TF. But most of them are just work. And that's what kills me. Oh ok.. A buddy of mine told me he got a platinum in Wipeout HD. Told me it took him like 4 and a half months, and wasn't fun at all. He had to setup times to meet up with people to help him boost, would stay up cussing and screaming at his tv. No No... I don't want that.

How about

Win a race with a lightning bolt in hand
Lap someone
Finish a grand prix with 3 stars and 0 coins

Those are the kind of achievements that I like.

Bro, you should've known this board despises achievements. The mention of them causes massive angst yo.

Even though they are a completely optional thing.

Actually, they're not. Can you turn off Achievements/Trophies on Xbox/PS3? No, you can't.

I'm pretty sure you can turn the notifications off. There you go!

I don' tmean to crap on your effort, but this is exactly what's wrong with achievements. All these things are "achieved" simply by playing the friggin game. That's not an achievement, that's barely an accomplishment, you're doing what you're supposed to be doing. The ones i didn't copy are real achievements that take a lot of skill, effort, determination, etc. You shouldn't get an achievement for beating the game, that's what you bought the game for. That's like someone congratulating you on finishing a test in school. its going to happen regardless

I'm impressed. Not a single one of those is even remotely creative. Normally there's one or two that are interesting, but you managed to create the dullest possible list. That's one hell of an accomplishment.
