I see a lot of support for Mighty Number 9 as a spiritual successor to Megaman, and is even being made by the Keiji Inafune, co-designer for Megaman.

I wanted to see how many of you would support a similar decision for the Metroid series.

After Other M, there is a bad omen about the brand, and we are even seeing lore contradictions to and from the manga.

A spiritual successor allows for a fresh start with new characters, new story, and a new title.

Going by your logic, there should not have been any Zelda games after the CDI games. And hell, at least Other M was actually playable. The same can't be said about digital sewage like Wand of Gamelon.

I'm not talking about the CD-i Zelda games, and you should NEVER speak of them again!

oh ok
Aren't there already a million Indie Metroid clones out and coming? How would a spiritual successor be any different than those?
