Not a sequence so to speak, but in Shadow of the Beast II, the end splash screen was pretty creepy.
Alundra is the best top-down Zelda game since Link to the Past.
Darksiders is the best 3D Zelda game since Ocarina of Time.

The bankruptcy game over screen in Theme Park World. The scary organ notes and the shadow of the guy who'd hung himself, whilst showing a photo of his family.

...damn, now I feel silly about the Game Over in Donkey Kong Country. Yours is just flat out dark.
Salty about the idea of Chorus Men in Smash; Enough to recreate the Dead Sea.
If confirmed, I'll become the world's leading supplier of salt.

It scared me a little bit.

Cant say I remember being scared of a game over screen as a kid. As for Friday the 13th, I like the revised AVGN game over.
Nothing wrong with a 40 year old man watching anime intended for 5 year old Japanese girls.

I have to agree with Donkey Kong Country's though. Seeing the Kongs all beat up... and that sad music, just moved me. Thankfully the second one wasn't so scary... The third one though. Surprisingly darker as you got more game overs... The door slamming on you kinda gets to you after awhile.
