I think it will succeed, though I hope they introduce Amiibo as DLC as well. Like either pay 15 for the figure, 10 for the content. Personally, other than transport the figure doesn't do much for me, so being able to store characters on the console would be better, however I think for many collectors as well as the younger audience, physical representation of the characters is a great idea.

I doubt it, their opportunity was after skylanders and before disney infinity.
But things will turn around for the wiiU though, just not with amiibos.

I think it would've sold better in this time frame, but the ones that are compatible with multiple games could do very good (i.e., Yoshi, Mario, etc.)

I don't think that more gimmics will turn things around, as much as I love them, don't get me wrong! (wanting Fox and Wario figures!) I really think that better games on the long run, to par with what we're seeing coming out later this year will keep the momentum going.

There was a study from before Amiibo was even announced, that a majority of kids, somewhere around 60% iirc, wanted Nintendo NFC toys.
The problem with trolls is that you can't logic with them. The same goes for idiots.

Hell, I'm a big kid, and I would love Amiibo. I'd probably get Link, Samus, and Pit.

I just see people collecting the figures, they'll make some extra bucks for Nintendo but I don't see them turning the WiiU around

True true! I know I'd love to collect them, and it'll be a lot of fun, but yeah, probably won't do much with Wii U sales overall.

Hmm... I hope they have a lot of smash and pokemon ones planned...
