DDOS IS NOT A SECURITY BREACH.

That said, Nintendo's network is far more robust and modern than Sony's. Not surprised that Sony buckled under the stress so easily.

They aren't getting hacked. DDOS attacks ate just clogging up serves basically. They have a program which tries to connect to the servers millions of times to basically force overload them and cause them to crash. No information is stolen and it's not really hacking. Anyone with the program can do it.

Just some lonely kid who probably has no real life friends trying to get attention. Shame he's gonna throw his life away cause the FBI is looking for him now that he called a bomb threat on a plane.

wait, what? o_O

^ the guy in charge of PSN was on a plane at the time of the attack. Someone phoned in a bomb threat to force his plane to make an emergency landing.

Yeah, I couldn't believe anyone, even hackers, could be that arrogant. At least it should be easy to catch them, even for the FBI...

Yeah he did. Check out the link bandit posted above. Basically called in a threat on the plane the president of Sony Online Entertainment was on. The dude is either crazy or stupid. Probably both. Oh and lonely so he acts out for attention.

The funny part is he could be charged with cyber terrorism and possibly real life terrorism. He's gonna see prison for a long time.
