Does your gamepad die relatively soon too?
Please understand. I don't want the NX to fail I just assume that it will.

Buy another battery then.

On Wii U you can do that.
On Switch you can't.

I don't want to buy another battery...I don't want to use it at all, I just have to charge it here and there sometimes which is annoying.

Then I don't know where the problem is.

If you don't want to use it, simply connect it with a cable and keep it somewhere.
Or well simply remove it altogether. Most games work without it. And I doubt there will be another system update.

Most games don't require it and you can just use the Wii U Pro Controller, which is awesome because it literally lasts up to 80 hrs. That's the reason why it's one of my favorite controls.

I usually just keep my gamepad plugged in and I turn the screen off in the controller settings or the gamepad is just dead, so I don't need to have it on and I can use my Wii U Pro Controller.

Unless, it's one of those games that require it or it's better to actually use the gamepad, then just keep the charger plugged into the port while using it. It's annoying, but what can you do?
