Sorry, I never played Far Cry 2. But I really can't see what would be the problem with respawning enemies in this game. I understand if they respawned as soon as you turned around or something but... part of the enjoyment of this game was the random encounters and they are completely gone postgame. Like, what's the point?

In Far Cry 2, the "outposts" were basically mission zones. Most of these zones were off the main roads. They were mission locations. Enemies respawning at these locations wasn't an issue. In fact, it was fun to go to these areas repeatedly and kill everyone there.

The guard posts were the ones people had a problem with. You'd kill all the people there, head on down to your mission objective, and then when you'd head back, the enemies at the guard post had respawned. If you were playing on normal, it wasn't really an issue. You could drive through most outposts and at most take one shot and could keep going.

The things that made people get a bit irritated was on higher difficulties, you couldn't just smash through the outposts. You'd get killed very quickly.

What truly got annoying was that enemy vehicles could always catch up with you, on any difficulty. So respawning enemies and nearly impossible to avoid enemy vehicles became really frustrating when you just wanted to return to base.

There was more limited fast travel as well, which made travelling a bit tedious.

They redesigned the map for FC3. The outposts are nothing on FC2's mission zones. They are small and limited, as opposed to having things like a huge train yard or cliffside village. FC3 has a couple mission areas where enemies spawn infinitely, such as the compound, but they aren't as interesting as FC2's. There are a lot of areas they could add infinitely spawning enemies though if they wanted.

That's they way they designed it though, and they probably aren't going to patch in anything different. We don't even know about any DLC aside from the two co-op missions on the PS3.

My suggestion is to make a game save with the outposts left alone. Then just load it up again any time you want to re-do the outposts.

they should have an option for resetting them after you beat the game and clear them all, but honestly, I don't see why it's that big a deal. By the time I had cleared out the outposts I had sunk 30-40 hours in the game and was basically done. This game isn't like skyrim where you can go on for 100s of hours on one playthrough

Nice try but fail.

There are about 2 very small areas on the map post game where enemies spawn. No random spawns at all. They went from one extreme to the very other. Ubisoft is full of extremists. Can't they just meet in the damn middle?

Completing the game? Already having them taken over before realizing that there was absolutely 0 replay value in the postgame? I don't know. Please, use your brains.
