how many blocks high is the average map at sea level

Not 100% sure, but I dont think the map is that tall from bedrock to the sky limit. Doesn't seem to be anyway.

From bedrock to the sky it's a maximum of 128 blocks I believe.

127 blocks from bedrock to the sky limit.

Bedrock to sea level is 63 blocks. Sea level to sky limit is 64 blocks. On PC the sky is at 255. We may get that for the xbox one day but you still won't be able to make your image. You could only put that on the ground, or make a smaller version of the image.

Nope, the processor chip in the xbox isn't powerful enough, hence the reduction in the first place.

You could always build your pixel art horizontally on the ground and view from above.

They can still add it in though, or even just make it a bit taller. It would take a bit of work.

I'd rather they try to figure out how to get the xbox to do bigger (and hopefully infinite) worlds.
