The point is that all players have the opportunity and prerogative to learn where the weapons spawn and how often. Running to a weapon uncontested, does not take skill, its easy. The skill is needed however when the other players know where the weapons spawn and rush them also, then whoever wins the battle gets the power weapon advantage.

Well said. In halo 4 the ordance drops indicators ruin that feeling a little bit. There was nothing as satisfying as picking sniper as it drops on sanctuary and then sniping someone right afterwards.
