colin wool 26 Apr 2013 at 10:41 am PST Sorry, but Halo 4 doesn't belong in the series. It truly is a rip off of COD. It's simply not a fun MP experience and it saddens me that the best 343i could do was copy another game instead of creating a game that actually feels like Halo instead of just saying it does.
Ironically, that's what Halo was designed to be. It's an amalgamation of various elements of popular FPS titles. It's always been that way.
"Ah...Natalie Portman...I bet even her farts smell like roses"
"We have a formula that works, but let's change it, just to be different"
I feel bad for the future of the Halo series in idiots hands like this
You'd rather it be like Madden?
I didn't say that.
If you are going to make changes, make the changes make sense. Not just add stuff for the sake of adding stuff and being different to Bungie. It's readily apparent that that is what 343 has done with halo 4
In a way I think changes are good sometimes, otherwise, why not just come out with map packs for halo 3? But what game developers don't get is gamers like small gradual changes. You'd be pretty unhappy to visit your girlfriend only to find that she's now a bearded man. But you might be pleasantly surprised if she got a new haircut today.
Saying the employees "disliked aspect X in Halo" is totally different than them "hating Halo because of X". The former is normal while the latter is irrational, and makes them absolutely not the people you want developing the series. The answer you'd actually want people to give is "I love Halo, except for X. Y could improve it" because then they want to keep the fundamentals the same but make useful changes.
Also, what happened to "We're big Halo fans, trust us"?
