What did you not understand? Jack is head of hyperion Jack stole vault key from tannis Jack uses angel to trick vault hunters Jack charges vault key with siren power Vault huters try to steal key and fail Jack unleashes the warrior that was housed in the vault Vault hunters win against fight, kill jack .... Some really complicated stuff there.
Doesn't get more cliche then JACK WILL ACTIVATE THE WARRIOR TO DESTROY WORLD. Just wants to do it for no reason.
FEAR THE WARRIOR! ULTIMATE WARRIOR!
How convoluted is that?
Not quite. He doesn't want to use The Warrior to simply destroy the world, he wanted to use it to cleanse Pandora so that he had a blank slate to rebuild it how he wanted it. To get rid of the trash in one fell swoop and start it anew according to his megalomaniacal vision of perfection.
And the point that KingThing was making is that the story isn't convoluted.
Most of the characters in the game are simply caricatures of a classic archetype. It's the style of the game. It would be foolish to think that the story wouldn't follow in a similar fashion.
