All of the classes cover a lot of bases in terms of what they do. We have a tank, sniper, medic, pet user, two elemental specialists (Maya generally, Gaige for Shock), assassin and whatever Axton falls under (Hunter/Ranger).
I can see why the wereskag is possible. I'd imagine it to be like Brick from the first games, a melee specialist. Unlike Zer0, whose melee tree is more suited for backstabs and other sneaky tactics, the wereskag would just charge in. So you'd have a skill tree for increasing melee damage, and one for improving physical toughness. As for the third tree....Speed perhaps? It'd be pretty interesting, letting people decide whether they want to hit harder, be able to take damage better or if they want to move and hit more frequently.
The only other thing I can see that we're missing is some sort of buffer class. Someone that could either increase how effective teammates are, or make enemies not as effective. (Like how Lilith could daze enemies in the first game with one of her skill trees)
This is a lot of wishful thinking on my part, but Gearbox has stated they're going to be releasing a huge expansion after all the smaller DLCs are done.
I'd like to see them introduce a freeze element, and see a new class based on freeze damage (similar to how Gaige uses shock and Maya uses burn.)
Though I really suspect it'll be a melee oriented class, since that's really the main archetype that's missing. So my money's on either the wereskag idea or a Hyperion engineer with an upgradeable hardsuit.
Currently playing: Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition, Dark Souls, Borderlands 2
I like the thought of having a new character be based around a new element, but I'm afraid we might not get a new one until the season pass has run it's course. Not whining about paying for it, just that it'd be so long before being able to play with it.
I've already run through the game 4 times with the original characters. I really don't want to do it again. Maybe we could just bring the new guy into one of our other characters game so that they'd be in the same place story and level wise.
