Jesse - it might look OP, but the fact is with the exception of psychos I think a player would rarely find both themselves and enemies on the consecrated land. It would typically be one or the other, depending on the build.
As for a melee override, there is the addition of fire/explosive damage in one of the skills in the Destroyer tree. I racked my brain trying to come up with a good melee override that would fit the theme for this character, but couldn't. I'm open to suggestions, however. I have no problem adding more gamechangers to a character's skill tree.
