Just remembered there was something like that at the end of that level, after the Constructor boss fight.

How does it work?

I put myself in it and told my friend to pull the lever.

Something happened - I have no idea because I was being burned to death in an enclosed pit of fire - and a horrible grenade mod appeared.

At least I had fun.

Look for ECHOs

The bandit built it to worship Marcus and the offerings of gun.

Pretty funny story!

throughout the map you find echo recorders of marcus giving a canned message to the crimson raiders and the bandits trying to sell them guns. he then gives guns to the bandits as a sample but instead they worship him as a god and offer him sacrifices to get more guns
There is no settling down! This is blood for blood and by the gallons. This is the old days, the bad days, the all or nothing days. They're back!

So do you actually get something if you sacrifice a gun?

eco master sacrificed himself, but anyone know what happens if you just sacrifice a weapon?

No. I tried throwing various items in there, nothing happened.

Seems like it's meant for player sacrificing in coop.
Should try it at higher levels. Maybe the item quality depends on the level of the player being sacrificed or something like that.

Or maybe it's just more Gearbox trollin'.
