Too lazy to write and alternate ending. At least, right now. I have a lot on my plate these days...
You groan and answer his question with a question of your own. You've heard that question... so many damn times. Your answer is going to be the same. No matter what.

You put your foot behind you and try your best to imitate a martial arts stance from the various kung-fu movies you've seen throughout the years. You're unarmed and alone, but you're going to fight. Fight to the very end.

Minato (Even though he hasn't said his name, there's no doubt that this is the guy) smirks, looking almost happy.

"I see... You've finally made a choice, haven't you...?"

He pulls his right hand out of his pocket, revealing a gun. He holds it up to the moonlight, making the metallic surface radiate with an eerie white light. He slowly brings the gun to his right temple. He looks completely unfazed at the prospect of shooting himself.

"Very well... Show me your will. Show me your will to live."

He seems completely different now. His eyes look focused instead of distance. Almost as if he's calculating every possible outcome of this encounter. A swirl of blue mist erupts from behind him, but you don't see his Persona... But you can sense a powerful presence. You had no idea... that something could be this powerful. Is this... The power of the Great Seal?

The two of you exchange looks, hesitant to make the first move. Minato has apparently opted to take a stance similar to a boxer. His hands are up and ready to strike.

Without notice, he dashes forward. He's so quick that he seems to fade into the shadow every now and again. He manages to reach you before you can even do anything. You don't even have time to react because he's already started wailing on your face.

With a 1-2 combo, he sends you flying backwards. You back slides across the ground as you struggle to slow down. As soon as you feel like you've stopped, you get back onto your feet and charge towards him. You take a swing at him with your right arm, but he ducks under it. You follow up with a left punch, but he skillfully parries your jab and counters with a barrage of blows aimed at your abdomen. You cough up blood and back away.

Minato tilts his neck and shakes his fist, almost is a demeaning way. The two of you exchange looks again. His eyes say, "Do you really want to keep going?"

There's no point in answering that. Your answer is the same. You step forward and inflict a blow on his right cheek. He staggers for a moment, allowing you to continue your onslaught. However, by your fifth punch, he manages to grab you by the arm and slam you down to the floor.

You can hear your body crack as it makes a crater in the hard concrete. You struggle to get up, but he is not finished with you. He slams his foot down on your stomach. Your body bounces up before returning to the concrete. He does this several times, each time harsher than the last. Your body is so overcome with pain, it has become numb.

Eventually the concrete underneath you breaks and you feel your body descend into free fall. You close your eyes as soon as you hit the water.

You're sinking... But, this doesn't even feel like water. You open your eyes and find yourself surrounded by black. But wait... what's that?

Something... bright... and colorful. You appear to be accelerating towards it quite rapidly.

The moment Man devoured the fruit of knowledge, he sealed his Fate... Entrusting his future to the cards, Mankind clings to a dim hope. Yes, the Arcana is the means by which all is revealed.

You crash down onto a circle made of stained glass. The design of it is all to familiar with you.. It's the tarot card for the Fool Arcana. Minato descends upon you and waits for you to stand up. Apparently he's not the one talking, because the voice continues.

Attaining one's dream requires a stern will and unfailing determination.

You rise up, only to be sent flying downward once again, crashing through the stained glass floor.

Soon enough, you reach another stained glass circle. The Magician.

You break through it without stopping, making you run into another. The Priestess.

The silent voice within one's heart whispers the most profound wisdom.

Celebrate life's grandeur... its brilliance... its magnificence...

Only courage in the face of doubt can lead one to the answer...

It is indeed a precious gift to understand the forces that guide oneself...

There is both joy and wonder in coming to understand another...

One of life's greatest blessings is the freedom to pursue one's goals.

To find the one true path, one must seek guidance amidst uncertainty...

It requires great courage to look at oneself honestly, and forge one's own path...

Alongside time exists fate, the bearer of cruelty.

Only with strength can one endure suffering and torment.

Hanged Man.

In the face of disaster lies the opportunity for renewal.

... Death. Its stained glass depicts a door sealed by a skull.

As you crash down to the middle of the final stained glass floor, you hear the voice continue.

The moment man devoured the fruit of knowledge, he sealed his fate... Entrusting his future to the cards, man clings to a dim hope. Yet, the Arcana is the means by which all is revealed... Beyond the beaten path lies the absolute end. It matters not who you are... Death awaits you.

You then realize... that this voice... is your voice.

Minato descends down, almost angelically. He approaches you slowly and with a hint of sorrow in his eyes, he slams his palm onto your stomach. Instead of breaking the stained glass once again, Death's door opens and sends you sinking into a black abyss of nothingness.

What does it mean to live?

I never could answer that question.

I guess it doesn't really matter. My life is meaningless anyways.

I've gone through life, half-assing everything. Clinging onto the past. It always... held me back. I could never get over that.

You don't see anything...

That's no way to live. So... What does it mean to live?

What should you do?

A) "..."
B) "Forming true bonds."
C) "Looking towards the future."
D) "Stop whining."
E) "You should watch the Lion King some time."

This takes place in Japan, so shouldn't it be Kimba the White Lion instead of The Lion King lol.

Busy tonight... So, this will be open for another day. Or perhaps I won't be too sleepy to write an entry.

In the mean time, guess who came in the mail? Just in time to torment Kaito.

Now, as you think amongst yourselves about how cool and/or nerdy these figures are, enjoy this picture of a Blastoise playing the keyboard.

Now, if you'll excuse me...

*Goes off to finish his work so he can stay up playing Pokemon White 2*

Let's just assume that Kaito has only watched the Japanese dub for The Lion King and hasn't had the chance to watch a ~60 year old anime.
... God damn it, all this whining is starting to hurt your ears. You tell the voice to stop whining and watch something inspirational... Like say... the Lion King? Sure, it didn't really inspire you or anything but...

You open your eyes and realize you just punched something. Standing just in front of you is... you. He brings his hand up to his face, rubbing the area where you struck him. However, he doesn't seem to be angry about it. In fact, he faces you and smiles.

He tilts his head upward for a brief moment, as if urging you to do something. You look at him in confusion before you notice that he has offered his hand to you. You look at it, not knowing what to do. Again, he urges you to take his hand.

... How do you know that this isn't another trick or something?

"I know Kaito wasn't exactly the socializing type,"

"But after a while, he warmed up."

"Kaito wasn't exactly the most approachable person. However, as time passed, I found a wonderful friend in him and I'm thankful for that."

"Yeah sure he was a bit of a slacker, but you could depend on him when you needed him. Don't tell him I said that though..."

"Kai...? Oh... Well... Um... I'm not very good at talking about people... He was... a bit distant and gloom-gloom at first, but he turned out pretty nifty. Something like that. I always stumble on word choices."

"Ah... K-Kaito's really nice... I still don't really know why he decided to talk to me but... I appreciate it."

Yeah... That's a bit strange... Before you came to this city, you didn't have anything that could even be remotely called a social life... But... why the sudden change? Why is the guy standing in front of you being so... approachable? This guy can't be possibly be you.

"When I first met Kite-kun, I could tell I kind of annoyed him, just a smidge. I will never forget that lazy eye roll he did on the first day of school. Haha...

But Kite-kun opened up, even though it was a pretty slow process. After a while, the guy I met at the beginning of the school year didn't exist any more. At least, most of him. Kite-kun's still pretty lazy when it comes to stuff like cleaning his apartment, but he gets the job done in the end."

These people... Are the bonds you've made. Initially you abhorred it. You saw it as a meaningless task given to you by a long-nosed man(?). In a sense, you changed some lives by making these bonds but... is that all you did? Could it be... that these bonds, changed you?

You look back at the boy standing in front of you. Even though he wears your face, you can hardly recognize him. A boy, with a wide smile, confident in his life and sure of his existence. And by offering his hand, he is obviously not the anti-social young man that you are... Or... were?

He continues smiling at you.

What should you do?

A) Shake his hand.
B) "YOU AREN'T ME!!!!!!!!!!"
C) "Stop looking at me like that."
D) Slap his hand away.
E) Other?
