If you have AI in your party you will have a bad time.

Because I'm sure AI will die a lot and you will never clear a single quest because of that.

If it's anything like MH or Gods Eater, then it's fine. I highly doubt their deaths will affect the number of KOs allowed.

If your post is in response to Non157's last post, I think it's because he meant AI dying will also use up the number of lives. If it's anything like partying online, anyone dying after two lives has been used (they are shared among party members) would mean quest failed even if you didn't contribute to the death count.

The game would be made even easier if there's no penalty involved if AI party member dies as a decoy during a quest.

sorry didn't know that, never played the game, my nearest experience was White Knight Chronicles 1 and 2
