Counter is pretty much the only thing that can actually kill a Nosferatu Sorcerer, and even then, it takes more than one Counter enemy in a single player phase to actually pull it off

it wouldn't be more fair, it'd be GIMPED if it did half damage

Yeah Counter is the counter (puns) to uber one-manning the game.

it cannot, under any circumstance kill unless you've less HP than the counter user

Or deal more damage than you have health but not enough damage to kill them.

Take the 65 health Counter Entombed in EXP.

You can only do 32 damage x2 but you only have... 40 something health.

You WILL commit suicide attacking them.

Read what I said.
They have 65 HP. You have 40. You have less than the counter user's.
If you have 65 HP, their Counter cannot ever under any circumstance kill you.

The "Reflected Lethality" is a myth.
You attack 65 HP Counter/Miracle.
You use Lethality. Miracle Procs.
You deal 64 damage. Counter reflects 64 Damage, not anything else.

Remember how useful it was in FE9?

There was nothing that can really compare to FE13 counter in FE9. You're probably thinking of Aurora in FE10, which was enough to be most of a final boss on it's own. Yeah I'd say it'd be good enough.

Aurora couldn't really kill anything, now could it?
If you actually lost a unit to Aurora, you were pretty fail.

Don't forget that right after attacking Ashera hit you with a ~60mt attack hitting everyone on the screen. Aurora didn't kill, but it weakened your units very quickly. Counter is similar. Counter doesn't have to kill to be dangerous. Two enemies with counter can often kill quite easily - two counter hits for massive damage and one attack hitting = death. Very few other skills offer such a massive danger to you, and most of those are found only on Luna+.
