Except FFX isn't "nature."

I ask because IRL we don't have an ethnic group (or race, whatever) with pupils (or eyes, for that matter) that are as fundamentally different as it is between the humans and Al Bhed.

There are animals, sure, that have different eyes than us (those pics are really ****ing cool), but nothing that speaks our language.

I think in the game that's probably some extended metaphor for how the humans and Al Bhed literally AND figuratively see things differently, but eh. Maybe I'm overthinking.

That's interesting, but the yevonites should have the swirls going by that metaphor, as their views are twisted :P

There's kind of a hazy line between the terms "race", "ethnicity" and "nationality". People throw them around without differentiating between each other.
