Considering this is Pokemon here, it was probably easier to make a sequel to an already existing game with code that's still modern, it probably helps that the 3DS can play old DS games....if anything, it's a guaranteed seller, they'll make more money because there might still be a lot of people on the fence about getting a 3DS.

^^ this. Even if it is a true sequel and not just gray version split up, they already have like half the work done.
That all said it is sad that we aren't getting a 3ds release. Even with it compatible for the 3ds (Nintendo even commented that it was, cause we didn't know?) It still seems an odd choice not to put this primarily on 3ds.
i like having discussions, so lets discuss the topics, not the spelling, or grammar. and lets be nice in the process.
Iced_Shadows posted... You... do realize this game can be played on a 3DS, I hope? It really isn't a huge deal. We're just missing out on a few features, such as StreetPass. The graphics don't matter much in Pokemon. The only important thing we won't be seeing with these is true DLC.
You aren't missing out on streetpass, since no DS game ever had streetpass.
jayman7 posted... I'd rather have this on the 3DS. I'll probably buy it anyway if it actually is a sequel, but if it turns out to be a Gray-like remake, I might not. And I'm certainly not planning on buying both (I wouldn't do that if they were on the 3DS!), unless it turns out that the two are actually drastically different games from one another, like the Zelda Oracles (doubt it).
They did advertise the games as "two new adventures," though I'm honestly still having a difficult time believing GameFreak actually made one new adventure mid-generation.
I claim to be the official Porygon2 of the Pokemon Black 2 board. It makes me feel special.
