How do UFG create the strafing (lane-movement)

You know those tracks where you instead of manually turning right and left, you strafe and automatically turn. I was thinking of making a futuristic level where you maneuver a hovering car through the traffic by changing lanes on the way. Hopefully someone understands. Please enter specs used on different logic tools and/or other gadgets used.
theres a strafe setting in the handling tweaker, if the level is a regular race track, they'll follow the path. If its an arena i do believe you need to make a path with the path tool, give it a tag in its tweak settings and match said tag with the tag settings in the handling tweaker.
