If I'm zoomed into my target finder on my LMG and still walking (barely since LMG slows you down very much) will that be enough for ghost to work? or do i have to run/sprint?

Pay attention to the minimap. When Ghost's effect is active, your arrow becomes translucent. Pistols and SMGs allow you to move fast enough while ADS to still hide you from UAVs but for other weapon classes, you need to make use of Adjustable Stock.
