Tales of the Legendia for me, I played that game without any expectation at all, never watched any trailer and I just bought it cause it was there in the shop. I end up enjoying the character interaction so much, and the music oh god, the best in the series. The only thing lacking is just combat, it's so-so for me but still fun to play. What's yours?
Tales of Vesperia, I was blown by both the artistic style of the game and the characters. It's definitely one of those games I wished had made it over to ps3. Since it has more content on the ps3 console.
To look at the world in a different light, look with eyes unclouded by hate.
Graces, it was may way back into the series and I basically expected a crappy filler RPG to waste my time with at the time. Plus, all I saw was people wanting Vesperia/Xillia instead of "the crappy Wii game" on the little I saw of forums.
Nope, loved it completely despite the low expectations, had to laugh at those guys since then.
And Xillia 1 surprised me in the "not nearly as bad as people say" kind of way.
PSN: Steel_Tarkus I may have gone too far in a few places
Symphonia mostly because it was my first Tales and I had nothing to expect from the series, so being like 10 years old, a lot of the twists blew my mind, after a certain point me and a couple friends had a sleepover and stayed up all night to finish it.
