Not sure how the bound stuff works, like you use gear once and it's bound to you, and the market board seems to not allow selling gear that is bound to you, so you can only sell gear you haven't used? The NPC shops only buy weapons/gear for like a few gil. And yea I do summon the NPC to give items to but they seem to not accept bound items to sell.

Never played an mmorpg before?

bound aka "soulbound" items are bound to your characters soul, hence no other player can use them.

If it's like any other MMO, then bound items can't be sold or traded to other players. They're "soulbound" to your character.

They made it so that you can't sell "used" items., like who wants a used car when you can get a new car.

But really, i think It's to prevent abuse with regards to material making.

Once a gear is bound to you, it becomes untradeable. This is common in basically every MMO nowadays. Its done so players have a reason to keep acquiring gear instead of recycling gear among each other. Keeps the economy moving too and helps keep inflation in check a little bit.

oh, well don't recall that in FFXI. Ah well, gear is easier to obtain in this anyway. guess I should sell the extra bound gear for a few gil at the NPC shops? (well not like I tried doing that. but if that doesn't work I guess people should discard that outdated gear?)

Yes, I would sell the gear to vendors, or see if the gear has value for another class you might want to level down the line and save it for that. FFXI didn't have this system, yes. MMO's since have made it common.
