Yes. I first wasn't interested in the Tales series, but ever since I played the first Tales game, that got me hooked on it. I don't understand why Sin_Haverster hates the Tales series, maybe because he has no life...
I like the tales of series more tbh but i also like the Final Fantasy series
My biggest points of difference between the series is the amount of spotlight characters get besides the story or even side quests which you get through skits and the battle system.
I think they add a bit more exposition outside the main story plots and general feeling about how the characters feel towards each other, also some of them are pretty hilarious especially Graces f
I also in general find characters in Tales of games to be more interesting as well.
As for battle systems i'd say that I don't really have that much of a preference t turn based battles are a little more strategic and you have full control over each party member action/real time is more exciting and brings into play your reflexes as well as combos which i enjoy.
One more thing i will say i do like how in the tales games each character has a set of their own unique abilities meaning each character is different from one another in battle in comparison a lot of ff games characters really have no indistinguishable skills apart from limit breaks/overdrives/quickenings essentially (apart from FF 4, 6 and 9 correct me if i'm wrong) to me having characters which can do everything robs them of their identity and makes them pretty bland to be honest
However i will say over the journey i'd say that final fantasy series have made more solid games and get much much more localised. Since Abyss though tales games have begun to consistently of a higher standard then previous games in the series.
