In that link , Motomu Toriyama claims that Lightning Returns:Final Fantasy XIII will be the most polished Final Fantasy ever . Could you think it is true?
Final Fantasy 13 was absolutely gorgeous from a graphical view and i mean breathtaking beautiful, with astonishing art design , lush backgrounds and with one of the best in-game character models i have ever seen.
Then Final Fantasy 13-2 came out and took a step back from its graphics. Yeah the game looked nice still, but it was nowhere near the level of its predecessor with a dipping framerate, screen tearing and less polished character models. Granted it came out pretty quick after Final Fantasy 13,1 year and a half, because of re using old assets.
How will LR fare i wonder? Will we have a Final Fantasy 13-2 deja-vu? Or is Motomu Toriyama so confident that him and his team have enough time and diligence to truly deliver the most polished Final Fantasy ever?
Because the most polished one is Final Fantasy XIII, right? And that took 5 years to develop. And plus ,unlike Final Fantasy 13-2, they arent re using a lot of assets, mainly monster designs. So more work to create in such a short time...
So is it possible that LR wille topple FFXIII in terms of graphics? Or does Motomu Toriyama means something else with polish?
Of course I can't say anything about the gameplay or story yet, but I'm expecting something similar to its predecessors obviously. But as for the graphics, the screenshots do look rather promising. It already looks prettier than XIII-2, and if they've learned anything from their mistakes than I could see where Toriyama is coming from.
Though whether or not people will personally see this as the most polished FF will still be open for debate. I doubt it will be personally, but then again it doesn't have to be to be enjoyable.
