I have to say, I don't understand that lock/erase save cr*p...
As a game developer, I say this is the stupidest thing ever thought in order to enforce a save 'transfer' instead of a save 'copy'.
You can easy lose all of your progress if you're not careful enough (fortunately, it hasn't happened to me).
And if you don't make progress the way you're supposed to (that is too say, when you transfer from the 3DS to the WiiU, you can only make progress on the WiiU, and vice versa), you have to manually delete your save or the game won't let you proceed any further !
Seriously, what the hell those guys were thinking ?!
Why couldn't they just let us copy our saves as we want ?
There's absolutely no hardware constraint WHAT.SO.EVER that would justify this.
It's just... absurd, stupid, preposterous...

I think it is also worth noting that you can create backups of saves by using the backup tool that comes with one of the later 3DS updates. This way, you can have several save profiles on the 3DS that you can swap through without worrying about losing anything. I don't have my 3DS with me (I'm such a good employee), but I'm pretty sure it's super easy to do. As far as transferring between systems goes, however, I'm not sure what impacts that might have.

I find it interesting that many "Stickies" across GameFAQs are made by the most elitist members of it's board.
MH3U's Father and Son Outing is the closest we can get to knowing what hell is going to be like
