I finally decided to try the G Alatreon with SnS. I failed as time ran out, BUT...

He was acting extremely aggressive in the last 10 minutes, you know, rage mode is pretty much instant, ridiculous amount of spamming same moves to the point your openings for attack get frustratingly limited.

I feel like he always does that once his health is starting to be very low.

I figured I could KO him once during the quest, but looks like it's absolutely pointless to do one shield hit for each combo, it don't seem to be nothing but waste of damage. I do wonder, how much would it take?

I was using farcasters to drop him back on the ground when flash or binder weren't an option.

First horn breaks at 38 minutes left

Second horn break was around 26 minutes left, I'm not sure how good indicators of damage knowing these breaks is, but I suppose it's still better than nothing.

Anyway, this attempt really got me excited, I'm starting to think that it's possible to take him down, just got to abandon the idea of a KO, though I guess it would be interesting to do a run by focusing on shield attacks...

Anyone done this yet? I want to see it die...
Has anyone tried out Crown of Taurus? I want to make a limited removed set out of it, or is that a bad idea?

Crown of Taurus is pretty good, it's worth playing around with.

I'm thinking of using a mixed nether set with gemmed in artillery expert.
It has Silver Bullet, Artillery Expert, Stam Recov, and Current Resist (low).
I never used a gun like Taurus before, is there a better set I could use? Or is my nether set ok?
Thank you for the feedback!

I'm not sure Silver Bullet is the best idea, it tends to reduce your skillset considerably, and when it comes to a hunt you generally focus on a single shot type for a monster.

Which monsters do you see yourself using the gun on? If you're set on it being a super general gun, you could go for something like challenger/adrenaline (or even both at the same time) with evasive skills.

My most damaging gunning set is actually Challenger +2, Adrenaline, Fortify, and Evade Extender for the Lucent Gun (but it also works with Taurus and I've used it), but that's definitely not a stress free experience lol.

One thing to note is that Pellet Up is a huge boost (equivalent to Adrenaline), so if you focus on Pellet and go with evasive skills, you still do pretty damn good damage. Again, there's nothing inherently wrong with your set, but evasive skills can be kinda nice for gunners, and if you're planning to mostly use one shot type, it's better to specialise and cram extra damage/evasive skills in.

So yeah just things to consider before you go all in.

I was thinking of using multiple shot types. Crag when the head is open, status/raw depending on the monster. I will try out the challenger/evasion/adrenaline set

Adrenaline gunning can be really stressful, so feel free to try other stuff lol. In any case, I wouldn't really bother with artillery expert for crag shots. The damage gain isn't really enough to justify it considering the limitation on the crag ammo/combines you can carry.

That way you might be able to squeeze in some evasion into your silver bullet set. Another thing to note with crag, the recoil is quite huge, I don't think even Taurus can fire them effectively without some form of recoil down.

So... did the giant Nibblesnarf quest. Way more annoying than it should be -.- Seriously, normal nibble is easy, but the giant one? super annoying :/

Anyway, started making the Sanctioned SnS, and I'm hoping that there is a chance to get more than 1 miniature ticket in the rewards, because I really don't want to do the quest 5 times... that Volvidon ruins how fun that quest is.
.....in bed.

There is a chance for a multiple ticket drop, but it's pretty rare.

I rigged up some evade training wheels yesterday. I figured its time to learn how to hunt the correct way haha. Used Naracuga X and Helios Z armour parts to have Evade2, evade ex, and sharpness +1 and dropped back down to high rank for practice. Zingore seems to be the easiest for me, I have seen people say practice on naracuga, he still gives me trouble with the timing cuz he is so damn fast even though some of his tells are obvious. I need to work on rolling thru roars too. Rathalos lit me up yesterday I was Jonny Storm that whole fight SMH I got work to do!
