A while back the_requiem started a pawn discussion thread. Though there is wealth of information present on old threads here & on the vanilla DD board, it can be cumbersome to wade through old posts and filter ones relevant in DA. In these threads we all could pool all our knowledge and answer any questions that one may have. We as a community thought this was such a good idea that we carried on with these threads for all the different vocations. So, why not have all of these threads as well as other great links all in one place.

So this is a one stop thread for some of the best & most useful links available for building & training pawns, purification system, etc.

Pawn discussion threads, great info on building, setting up & training pawns.

If you want to request a sticky for this, click on "message detail of the initial post, scroll to bottom and [after you put in your reason for request] click request sticky. You must be gameFAQ level 31 to request a sticky.

Tip: Some may not know that the less pawns in your line of sight while in the rift gifting, the faster it will scroll down the gift item list. Try to look at the pawn you're gifting facing away from the rest of the pawns.

Some other tips and tricks;

Oak Leaf Oil and an Empty Flask combines into 3 x Flask of Oil

You can mine using Throwblast or Dragon's Spit, High Comestion (credit to Karathrax) and Giciel (credit to legendrider), if Explosive Barrels or a Warrior's skills are not an option.

Throwblast, Dragon's Spit, High Comestion and Giciel can not only be used to mine ore deposits. they also break open weakened spots in walls such as the two spots in the Tainted Mountain, during the quest "Deny Salvation". Sometimes pawns use the Explosive Barrels on enemies, so these are alternatives

Some may not know that the less pawns in your line of sight while in the rift gifting, the faster it will scroll down the gift item list. Try to look at the pawn you're gifting, facing away from the rest of the pawns.

Another shortcut when gifting multiple gifts is to manually input the PSN ID ("Search/Pawns by Online ID") instead of scrolling for it in any of the other lists. It will stick until you exit or enter a new ID and the stages to summon a pawn multiple times is suddenly much shorter and faster.

Rotten ambrosial meat or giant rotten fish + verdigris concoction = staminal drench.

Rotten scrags/steaks can be made into backfat oil, which can then combined with an empty flask to make three oil flasks, much like oak leaf oil.

Nice work on this Karmi and everyone, glad to see this get stickied. X)

A few tips and/or things newer players may not know.

The augment inflection is glitched and actually doubles the amount of damage received rather then reducing it by half.

The augment impact although somewhat useful at lower levels has virtually no effect at higher levels and is useless on BBI. You will get much better results from equipping a barbed nail acc or to a slightly lesser extent, a cursed kings belt. It should be noted that emphasis for spells does work though although many disagree as to whether it is worth using a spot for or not. Experiment for yourself.

Another one that is somewhat useful at the beginning of the game but not at all later and on BBI is gravitas for casters. On BBI the enemies are just too strong and casters will either get interrupted or just stop casting and run, defeating the purpose of the augment.

While repeatedly using right or down commands on the D-pad ["heal" and "come"] will cause guardian to become one of the top inclinations, [not popular with most players] using left [help] on the D-pad will encourage utilitarian. This is useful if you're pawn is a caster that uses buffs or debilitation spells, or an archer that uses debilitation attacks, and have utilitarian as one of your top augments. Using up [go] repeatedly will encourage pioneer, often popular with fighter or strider pawns.

You can take 4 periapts of any kind [conqueror's, demon's, etc] at a time and they do stack! Taking 4 conqueror's periapt's for example will almost double your strength for about 60 seconds. If you find Fournival not guilty and save him, he will sell unlimited amounts of these and other periapts in the post game.

Having trouble with Death on BBI? One of the most efficient methods of defeating him quickly is to equip a barbed nail, take 4 conqueror's periapts and use blast arrows with five/tenfold flurry as an assassin, strider or ranger. It should be noted that in hard mode Death is much harder to knock down but the ranger's longbow with tenfold flurry will still stagger him combined with the above.

Hope this helps a bit, happy hunting!! :))

"I'm not good at farming"

Who is really? It's about patience. But spending 2-3hrs (I've seen it) for that Dark Lorica or Dragonblood Ring?

Not necessary!

When farming both on BBI and Everfall, if you haven't found what you are seeking after, say, ~10 tries, but found one of the other "high tire" drops, you should re-zone. Simply exit that chamber/room/scene of slaughter, re-enter and try again. It is not unusual that what you're seeking may drop on 3-6 tries this time. Same thing goes for BBI chests. Re-zone and try again. Sometimes I also "save and exit to Title" for a reload. But anyway the chest "spawn" is reset is a good way. I have farmed two Dark Lorica in Everfall in 20 mins and one Dragonroar in 8 mins, from entering Everfall to getting it with this method, and numerous BBA3s and the ilk on BBI. Good luck!
