Happy new year! It is now 2015 (for me anyway), meaning the Absolute Pawn Contest is officially kicked off. Follow this thread for the performances of your pawns in our selection of arenas. We will kick off with the two - by far- easiest arenas:

Arena of Extreme Anxiety
This one will test your pawn's ability to focus fire and debilitation resistances. Did you forget to check your pawn's debilitations resistances? That's some tough luck right there for you now. Pawns can't decide which targets to prioritise? There goes your top clearing time, cause those Silver Knights will heal and revive like you wouldn't expect them to.

Arena of Awkward Estrangement
It's a bunch of cyclopes. What do I care you think? Killing the Bondageclops is where your pawns will score the points that will set them apart from the rest. Ya'll think you can kill the Bondageclops, or maybe the Bondageclops will kill your pawn? It could easily go either way.

Survive these two arenas and I'll partner your pawn with a new partner. It is then we get down do the real carnage, the Old Men Musk Arena and the Doghouse. Carnage, as in, your pawn probably getting bloody annihilated. Or maybe the other way aroud if they're really good. At least these ain't the Death Metal Arena.

Ready? Well, does it matter? Here we go! For the next 18+ days I will present to you one battle report every day in a completely random order. Please enjoy your and everyone else's pawns. Fun is the number one reason we're doing this after all. Different pawns, different strokes, in the end no pawn is really absolute.

Enough talk, this is the result for day 1:

awesome 1st vid of the year. 2 fighters getting all the aggro while the sorc stay away and cast is a good way for sorcerers to survive. too many spells cancelled to jump out of the way. and the cyclop just stomped on the 2nd fulmination like a blue egg.

ard still would have like to see pass the 10 minutes mark, did she die during that last fulmination or the condemned gorecyclop died ?

Nice work with the video ard, and well done Kazehana & Lara for surviving that carnage.

Good luck to all the pawns!

Fulmination was an excellent tool to induce torpor. Unfortunately Kazehana lacked the power to do enough power to defeat the Bondageclops within the time limit. Kazehana was knocked out, but at least she survived the full ten minutes. When I was sure the ten minutes had passed I picked her up and she helped take down the Bondageclops with a Miasma and a Gicel.

Great start, _ard! Not sure who gets the MVP on this one. On the one hand, Kazehana yielded more damage than all the others combined, on the other, without the fighters maintaining all the aggro, how long would she have lasted? I suppose it just goes to show what a powerful combination red/blue make.

What I wouldn't give to see her at the same venue with a Sanguine Stalk in hand!

Well then I'd say the MVP award goes to teamwork. We'll have another fighter/sorcerer team where the sorcerer has a Sanguine Stalk.

it's past midnight and 2nd jan, next 2 pawns pls ? we have around 40 vids to go through yeah, that's all the way until feb.

if ok with paasky i think kaze like to partner up with lara croft for the all other 3 battles as well. thanks

a sorc with the stalk and a fighter with devils bane, or a strider with thousand kisses will clear this arena. i seen striders take down condemned gores in seconds.

Striders...ugh. if Shondra's resistances were up to par, I'd have put her in in a hearbeat. She's my strongest pawn physically. X(

I'll be checking these out later. Props on the effort, Ard. I didn't expect to see new video on the first day but I'll chalk that up as a pleasant surprise. :D

Ya got that right. It was really impressive how well Lara and Calista kept the heat off Kazehana so that she could do her work.
