Considering that items increase in rarity when their last floor is completed (at least in my experience), would it be possible to go through a Common Arcadia 3 times or a Rare Arcadia twice to get it to Legendary, then steal the Trap that way? On the same note, does it make just as much sense to steal the Trap if it's Common or Rare, then do the same thing to make it Legendary and start perfecting it that way?
Yeah, that's right, I'm a Star Fox freak, big whoop, wanna fight about it?

The Trap is a rank 40 item, so it is always legendary to begin with.

Ahh, right, forgot that detail.

And what about getting the Trap from a Common or Rare Arcadia by running through it until it's Legendary, then going through it again? Would that work?

Yes, it would. I got my trap off of a normal arcadia by upgrading its rarity that way

Thanks a bunch! That will save me the hassle of resetting to get a Legendary Arcadia.

I have a Lv 9999 Thief (did it the hard way with the 3x3 Fire spell) which makes it very easy to steal items off Pringer Z (he is Lv 8000 on Normal Lv 0). I have had Legendary versions of everything he uses now (more than one of each), so have a number of Arcadias to play with to get a Trap. I have no objections to Game Overs, and as I have all items from the Hospital I can have instant healing on when I return to the castle so it costs me nothing.

@aces4839: To each their own, but I personally prefer to take a long, fixed amount of time for a sure thing than an indeterminate amount of time for a chance at it. Besides, if you start with a Common Arcadia, you can fill out all three rarities of the item in the Data Shop with a single item.

@RogsR34UK (does that R34 stand for Rule 34?): Went with a L9999 Galaxy Mage, myself, and I had to go with steal, then Game Over, myself. This game makes it much easier to get things since you keep it even if you G.O.

I got my first two Traps that way.

Got through 30/60/100 floors and stole. With the spheres I collected along the way it was level 220 or something when I stole my first Trap. I then went and levelled it to 300, stole a second Trap, and equipped the now level 300 Arcadia to make the trip through through the Traps a lot easier.
