Although I didn't go looking I was on IGN and looking at their comparison chart and under region lock it said xbox was a no, I was under the impression it was, now this does not effect me but I must of missed this announcement

Their mistake. Can't spell ignorant without... XBO is region free.

Yes indeed. Xbox One and the games are not region locked, so you can import anything and everything. If you would like look here for the official source. Its in one of the lower paragraphs.


In addition to buying a disc from a retailer, you can also download games from Xbox Live on day of release. If you choose to download your games, you will be able to play them offline just like you do today. Xbox One games will be playable on any Xbox One console -- there will be no regional restrictions.
