No. Warranties are scams. Microsoft was pretty good about repairing consoles last time. And they absolutely won't be bad about it this time especially knowing that bad PR off the bat with that could be fatal.

Never buy a warranty. If you **** it up, it's probably not covered. If it's their fault, it'll likely happen to a lot of people and hopefully force them to fix it for free. It's rare that anything falls in between, so warranties are pretty useless.

You're better off, instead of buying it, putting that value of money into a separate bank account. Every time you buy something. Eventually, if any of those items break, that account can likely cover its replacement with money to spare.

Also, a lot of credit cards come with extended warranties for all goods purchased on that card. So use a credit card and look up the terms.

If you will be putting tons of hours in then they can be a good deal. Sometimes your console will break and you can replace it and get a bigger HD + games with the replacement check.

I get extra warranty via my CC so I won't need it.

I'll get the extra warranty for the PS4 not the Xbox One. My 360 lasted 5 years and my PS3 got the YLOD the 3rd time i turned it on. With my luck, the X1 is safer than the PS4.

I'll be very surprised if MS didn't learn their lesson after the RRoD debacle.

The Best Buy Product Replacement Plan was no scam. That was a money-maker. Too bad they've gutted it. :-(
