"Due to HDMI latency issues, Penello reasoned, using the Xbox One's HDMI pass-through feature for any kind of "interactive" entertainment would result in lag during gameplay, which suggests that Microsoft wouldn't recommend playing an Xbox 360 through the One either. "

Well, what the hell CAN you use it for?

oh I don't know, maybe what it was designed for, duh.

Who's gonna be the brave soul and do it anyway I wonder..?

Anyways I suppose it makes sense only being able to use it for the cable feature they're promoting. Some delay with video wouldn't make a huge difference to the consumer... But if you're pressing buttons and things aren't happening until like a second later.. You're gonna have a bad time. (meme reference)

Still pretty cool that It can be done though.

We don't know how bad the lag will be, so I'll attempt it with my 360, PS3, and PS4 (when I get it) and see how bad it is, as I'm sure bunches of other games will.

If they are using a cheaper form of HDMI pass through that has latency issues with high bandwidth.

This means no hooking up older or newer systems to it such as Xbox 360, Xbox, PS3, PS4, Wii, Wii U, etc. This will also mean if you have a great sound system you will have audio synch problems (hopefully it's good enough you have settings to add a custom delay).

Either way it turns out it's more of a "watch TV" center. This is extremely disappointing news for me and was the whole reason I was buying a Xbox One at launch.

Raycon makes a valid point, what do you use a HDMI Throughput for if you can't use Interactive entertainment, and the Console itself is already a DVD / Blu Ray player?

Dang! I guess that foils my plans of trying to mate the PS4 with the Xbox One and see if I could produce baby consoles. Oh well, it probably would of been one hell of an ugly child anyway.
