All this talk about 720p, upscaled 1080p and native 1080p but what about 1080i?

There's something funny about console gamers saying 1080i is inferior to 720p because it is "only 30 FPS" when it is de-interlaced.

You guys are gaming on a console. You aren't going to be getting 60 FPS from your games anyway. Any framerate increase improvements that 720p could offer over 1080i are null and void in a console gaming environment.

If we were having this debate about 720p vs. 1080i being better for motion over on the PC message board then maybe there would be valid points to be had.
