I picked up the Polk 4 Shots yesterday, but when I hooked them up.... no surround sound. So I returned them and tried to get the TB XO Sevens only to find out they had already sold the only 4 pair they had. I had to drive 30 minutes away to Best Buy to find the Turtle Beach XO Sevens, but when I got home and hooked them up... no surround sound again!

After doing some research I found out that the Xbox One headset adapter doesn't even support surround sound. WTF? If I'd known I couldn't even hear surround sound with the $160 surround sound headsets, I wouldn't have wasted my time and money. There is no other way to hook them up to your console so why sell something that isn't even supported? I've been gaming for years on the 360 with TB surround sound headphones and they sound phenomenal. Now I'm using next gen headphones on a next gen console and they are 2 channel stereo. What a bunch of BS!

I see nothing in any product pages suggesting those headphones do surround sound, so why did you think they would?

you have to go into the settings for sound and set optical to bit then Dolby digital. My X rays work no problem

It's called the "Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter". If you want surround you have to plug your headset into a receive or through optical, not through the controller.

Because they are surround sound headphones. It wasn't until after I bought them that I found info from turtle beach saying the adapter wouldn't support surround sound at launch, but might in the future.

Again, WHERE did you get this from?

I see surround sound....nowhere. Anywhere. Please, show me where it says it.

Well then my guess would be they f***** up big time with their package production, because I see nothing about that on their official web page which I linked.

And it still wouldn't make sense anyways because the adapter is stereo only. So either it only supports surround only if you plug it directly into a receiver, or they effed up good and are just hoping people don't notice.
